Maggie peters

Veteran teacher and Hoopa communitiy member Maggie Peters was nominated and chosen as the 2019 Everyday Hero.  She has been a presenter and participant in countless educational initiatives including math academies and arts integration projects.  Congratulations, Maggie!

john michael larson

Mr. Larson received the 2019 Humboldt County Excellence in Teaching Award. He has participated in the Redwood Coast Professional Learning Initiative (RCPLI) a collaborative effort to strengthen the teaching performance of k-6 teachers in mathematics.  He currently teaches at Grant Elementary.  

heidi conzelmann

Ms. Conzelmann received the 2019 Humboldt County Excellence in Teaching Award. Heidi began her teaching career in 1988 and and participated in the Redwood Area Math Project and many other math trainings.  Over the past 30 years she has taught, Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, and 7th Grade and currently teaches 4th Grade at Morris Elementary.
